School history
IT ALL STARTED WITH.... CHOCOLATE
(interview with Bożena Siennicka)
Our school history began on 1st October 1946. Then the first State Confectionary Junior High School in Poland was created and based in E. Wedel factory.
Since that time the school has developed and changed its profiles and forms of education. Kazimierz Stradowski was the first school principal and performed this function until 1965. The first graduates finished school in 1949. All of them were employed in Syrena and 22nd July Confectionaries.
In 1950 two-year-old Confectionary Vocational School was created with the specialty of chocolatier. Afterwards, two types of school were formed: in 1952 – a four-year Technician School of Confectionary Industry ( combining two high school degrees: junior high school and high school) and also in 1960 - a Confectionary Vocational School for working youths. The Confectionary Technician School as the only one with such a profile quickly became known in the whole country, and thereby a lot of pupils from Słupsk, Wałbrzych, Nowy Targ and Toruń could attend it.
The Sixties was the time of “Tysiąclatki” – schools which were built in the honour of our country.
The construction of our school’s new building started on 21st February 1967.
18.11.1967 - The opening day of the millennium school at ul. Majdanska 30/36. Next year students started education in the specialty of confectionery and fruit and vegetable processing and in the professional school of confectionery and bakery specialty. The new school has been equipped with laboratories: physical, chemical, analytical and biological. Three years later, in 1970, the Core School No. 15 was established. The 1970s were a period of serious change. A new direction has been created in the technical school: milk processing instead of fruit and vegetable processing, a vocational school no. 25 with a gastronomic specialty was established.
19.10.1976 - The Technical School of Confectionery was named 22nd of July and the banner was founded.
1.09.1977 - The School of Food Industry was established, consisting of: Technician of the Confectionery Industry July 22, Basic Vocational School No. 20 and Vocational Secondary School No. 25. In this form the school functioned until the 90s. 1993 began a period of further changes and transformations: the Technological Institute No. 2 and the Food Technical School were established, the Vocational Training Center was established at the School of Food Industry, the Vocational School no. 25 expired.
1.09.1999 - A technician hotelier was created
2002 - The Technical School of the Confectionery Industry expired and the Gastronomy and Hotel School Complex was established with the Food Technical School, Gastronomy and Technician hotelier nr 2. Students were trained in: hospitality industry, catering service technician, chef. ZSZ also included the Basic Vocational School No. 20 with a specialty of baker and chef of small gastronomy.
2005 - The last year of the students graduated from Food Technician School. Five years later, on 20.10.2010, our patron was a professor of SGGW Stanisław Berger.
Today our school is already 70 years old, graduates who have tears in their eyes remembering the times of Top and dumb youth.
